exploding heads doesn't have down votes any more. What happened?

People were complaining about the down votes being used unfairly and that bots were being used.

I don't want bots chewing up resources or wasting peoples time so I disabled them.

I do not know, but I saw a lot of unusual traffic hit the server.

I'm trying to figure out what happened as well... It would be worrying if they've been turned off without any user notification or anything.

I have enabled down votes again.

Having them disabled did not seem to make a difference to the server.
