ultralight
Overnight backcountry backpacking/hiking in the spirit of taking less and doing more. Ask yourself: do I really need that?
Rules:
- Be decent.
- Stay on topic.
Resources:
Not for backpacking but for trad climbing. I've only been a couple times and it was always with someone who had their own gear, and now I have a bit of the relevant gear.
Nope. I only buy stuff I need.
Nice. What's the last thing you needed?
Trail running shoes. Nearly wore them down training for a half marathon, so they might also be the next thing I need!
Sounds familar -- on a thru-hike one goes through many pairs. Which model works for you?
Currently Skechers, I forget the exact model. I've got wide feet, so they're quite good, but I might do some research and see if I can get something a bit longer lasting next time.
I've spent hundreds of dollars on gear, but only went backpacking once, before I spent any money on gear. And that's why I decided to spend a bunch of money on proper gear before going again.
"consoom"
sadly, this is how a lot of people think of ultralight.
