One of the reasons I joined piefed was I was told I could use this as an account that federates with peertube. Can someone point me in the right direction on how I do that? (piefed.social)

I've never used peertube, and don't have a seperate account. I'm under the impression that I can use THIS account as my peertube account. I just have no idea how that works.

Here's the announcement I made back when PeerTube support was added, which includes links to every active channel i could find - https://piefed.social/post/126190

Join any of those groups and then new videos in those channels will appear on your home page. You can comment on and vote for those video posts just like any other post. You cannot create new posts in those groups!

In practice I've found this doesn't work great because none of those videos get enough upvotes to be visible in the home feed for long and most channels post videos quite rarely. But when more people subscribe or Lemmy gets PeerTube support this will change.

If there is a PeerTube channel you know of but which isn't added to PieFed yet, add it like you would a lemmy community: go to https://piefed.social/community/add_remote and put the address of it in. The channel https://tilvids.com/c/arthurpizza/videos would be typed as [[email protected]](/c/[email protected])

God dammit.....I saw your reply shortly after you made it, and I upvoted it. Now it's several hours later, it's my Friday, and for a normal persons schedule it's like 9pm on a Friday for me.

It goes without saying I'm quite drunk. So imagine my surprise when I check back in with my piefed account, see your reply again, and discover I've ALREADY upvoted you. I want to upvote you AGAIN!!!

I kid, I kid. But your post WAS super informative, and I learned a lot! So I just wanted to make sure you knew I appriciated it, in case you can't see specifically that I upvoted you. (I don't know how that works for instsnce admins).

I remember seeing that announcement, but I forgot to try it out once I moved here! Now I have, and it's AWESOME. This place is the coolest, thank you.
