Keep it ergo

Posts must be of/about keyboards that have a clear delineation between the left and right halves of the keyboard, column stagger, or both. This includes one-handed (one half doesn't exist, what clearer delineation is that!?)

¹ split meaning a separation of the halves, whether fixed in place or entirely separate, both are fine.
² ortholinear meaning keys layed out in a grid

Just got a choc Sofle and standard red choc switches along with it (50g weight). Compared to the gateron pro reds I have in my Keychron Q1 they don't feel quite as smooth and snappy. I'd describe them as feeling heavier and sludgy almost... any thoughts on other variants to try? Would choc silvers feel closer to my mx style gpro reds? Pinks seem like they'd be too light... I don't want switches that are too easy to mistakenly activate.

Silvers are my choc of choice right now, but I like purpz/pinks on the pinkies. Pro Reds are a good option too, being just a lil lighter than silvers.

Think I might try some silvers. the reds just feel a tad too stiff, which was surprising to me.

Were the pro reds a little too light for your liking?

Nope, they were too red for me. If the crystal reds were 5pin I'd use them a lot more.

Haha, too red? Oh, you mean the housing color itself?

Yeah, lol. Red is one of my least favorite colors.

I like it but… sparingly. It needs to be used with intention and preferably as an accent.

If you also want to try out tactile switches, go for the Choc Sunset.

I’ve heard those are nice! I have boba U4T, arguably some of the nicest mx style tactiles. I liked them for a while but then moved to box whites and now I’m back on a linear kick. Who knows, maybe I’ll check out the sunsets at some point. Thanks for the recommendation!

I have burnt orange choc and they are heavy AF. Don’t get them 😂 also being so heavy (70g), it ruins the tactility. I’m probably gonna switch to reds.

Lol, thanks for the tip! Definitely the opposite direction of what I was thinking.

I also started with the choc reds. And it was like a workout for fingers.

Then I switched to pro reds and they were great, but a little heavy if you like to use combos.

Now I am using purpz and I like them, but I still sometimes hit the wrong key and activate them.

Beyond using a modifier here and there, not using combos at the moment since my board has 60 keys and most everything can be on the base layer. Did you try silvers at all? Or just the pro reds?
