Not really sure what the fuck to do at this point. I'm not having any fun at all with this expansion. I just dont see whats "fun" here. I've beaten the base game many, many times. Ive beaten every souls game many, many times, but this shit? Its bad. If this entire expansion is like this, I think im done and i wasted my money. Im incredibly angry right now, and my mind may change, but this is some straight up bullshit.

I've played games 40 hours a week minimum for the last couple decades, I love games. People have already offered the right elden ring advice, so this is more general advice.

That 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th hour of "playing" the same way often has diminishing returns. Taking a break can do wonders for your progress.

Agreed on that. I've had two bosses where I had to spend 7+ hours to beat. But what I do is I play for max 2h at a time, usually less. And when I get back to it the day after,I really feel like I progressed

A good sleep and hitting again the next day can do wonders. Let that brain soak and defrag overnight. I could not even tell you the number of times I'd get bodied all night, then win like first or second try the following day.

Similar to the advice of others... But yeah a break really does wonders. Sitting there getting cranky rarely helps performance, but coming back cool, calm, collected with the experience of the fight makes a massive difference.

The trick is to wear him down and don't let anyone get grabbed b/c he heals of that.

Hit him with some Huge firepots, either fly or volcano, they throw off his combo timings. If all 3 of your friends can make them then 3 volcano pots each would be more than enough, just stagger your timings.

You can also hit him with stuff to stop healing but I find that to be a pain.

Also deep sleep pots MAY work on him, I haven't tested.

Don't give up, skeleton!

The light wall attack seems to micro stun him, or so I think. Idk, just saw someone spam it and he dropped to one knee each time. Maybe I'll try that I guess. I know he stands still after his bullshit combos, might try the backstab route. Too irritated to try right now..

It never hurts to go off in another direction and accidentally discover a tool to help you. There's a LOT of crazy good utility in the DLC consumables and key items.

Idk, I can't even beat a shitty mini boss. Not so sure I'll last long enough to find these useful things.

i killed every rememberance boss, but none of the death knights, because i kept getting grabbed and was not enjoying the fight.

I'd suggest to just go elsewhere unless you really want one of the death knight weapons, there is so much stuff to see in the dlc and the scadutree fragments* help a ton, so consider to come back later, if you still want to beat the death knight.

* you can find many without having to kill a single boss.

there's more than one fucking Death Knight?

......well fuck. Guess I shouldn't really be surprised, I guess. Checks out.

Yeah take a break for a while, collect more Scadutree fragments, maybe adjust your build toward holy or pierce, don't forget items like the boltdrake talisman and lightningproof liver and of course your flask of physick, and try an aggressive spirit ash to take some of the aggro off you.

And remember this is an optional boss so it's not gating any other content.

Almost fucking had him last night too... Ugh lol

I mean thus motherfucker had one inch of health left!

Grab carian retaliation, throw it on a medium shield, and parry the crap out of the boss. You can also use a buckler if you don't want to put time into getting the ash of war.

His attacks are incredibly forgiving and you'll feel like a parry god.

Give it a couple shots to get the feel of it. I recommend doing this solo, another player or spirit ash can mess up the aggro (and get grabbed healing him more).

A lot of times you need to adjust your play to the boss. Can’t keep trying the same strategy over and over again. I’d recommend bleed for most bosses
