It really is weird... I don't really want my depravity public knowledge. I'm hesitant on what I upvote/downvote just because someone may at some point be able to see and use that information.

Weird thing is that it seems to only be downvotes that act as boosts, not upvotes.

Actually, I think it is an issue with the kbin/lemmy cross-platform functionality, especially since some lemmy instances don't even allow downvotes (I think Beehaw is one?)
The way lemmy handles voting and boosting isn't quite the same I believe, so I think it's getting borked with federation.
Could be, it's just up votes and down votes here. Nothing like boosting. And user profiles just show posts and comment history
