I did the cross pollination by hand over the winter and saved the seeds that grew from that pepper.

Then I planted the seeds and grew out 8 F1 plants. This is the first one growing pods thanks to a visit from some local deer which set them back.

Those look excellent. Wish it was possible to email food.

Can't wait for a spicy pepper community to pop up! Spice is life

I hope it happens sooner than later! I’ve got a few Khang starr varieties that are about to start ripening.

How far did you go on ensuring you got the cross pollination you wanted? I'm going to try a cross in the fall and am planning on bagging the bud and cutting out the anthers, but that may be overboard.

This is the method I used.

Ive seen other videos like one from smokin Ed who just takes two flowers and rubs them together, but that’s not 100% reliable.

The method above will guarantee cross pollination as long as you get successful pollination. It took me a few tries, but eventually I got one to work.

Any ideas on what to name this? I was thinking blue brain ghost.

Cerebral Specter!

I just want to say how impressive it is that you did all of that. I can't even keep Trader Joe's Basil plants alive for more than a few days.

Thank you! I’ve definitely killed my fair share of plants. The trick is to keep trying 🙂

Gotta taste it first to really know.

I’m both looking forward to and dreading tasting this once it ripens.

There will be several factors in choosing which F1 plant to go forward with, taste definitely being one of them.

Also F2 could still look very different so it’s probably best to wait before naming.
