Welcome to the fold!

A community for all Bromptonites of the Fediverse!

The Brompton is a folding bicycle which is known for its unique design and compact folded size. The 3-part fold transforms the bike into an incredibly small locked package in no time.

Made in London, UK - loved all over the world. <3

The Chubby looks great, thanks for the pictures. A useful addition would be inline wheels on the lower back edge, so the case could be pulled like a suitcase within the airport — version V perhaps?

Yeah, I've definitely wished for that, it's a pain to carry around since it's both heavy and awkward. There is actually already a pair of axle holes on the back - you can put the wheels there instead of the center for pulling the trailer by hand, but you can't do that if the wheels are packed away. You might be able to jerry rig inline skate wheels with the same axle without waiting for a new version, but I haven't gotten around to trying that.

Pretty awesome. Thanks for sharing your setup!

Do you then take the case and the trolley with you on your tour (or just one of them) or would you lock them in somewhere until you get back and need them?

We’ve so far only used this setup for getting to/from the airport, not actual touring, so we just store it wherever we’re staying. The second case strapped on top is kind if cumbersome, if we were going to get into bike/plane touring I’d probably want a second Cyclone
