The purpose of these microgrants is to give money to open source projects that we use and love in order to encourage others to do the same. We need to financially support good tech that doesn't screw with us.
We gave microgrants to Organic Maps, Synchthing, and VLC.
We also wanted to celebrate the success of Gitlab and Zulip, so we bought subscriptions to them in order to encourage others to pay for good software.
