About

A community on Lemmy.world to talk about the streaming service Dropout and all of its series:

... and more!

Post any content relevant to Dropout: episode discussions, fan art, questions, shiny questions, etc.

Rules

1. Be nice

Be respectful and constructive. No harassment. No grossly offensive images. No hate including racism, misogyny, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, etc.

2. No spoilers

Don't post spoilers in the main title of a post. If posting a spoiler elsewhere, use the spoiler tag and identify which series and episode the spoiler is from. In a thread specifically about a particular episode, spoilers for that episode don't need to be tagged.

3. No pirated Dropout content

Don't link to — or request a link to — any Dropout content that is shared illegally. "Transformative" works like fan animations should be okay in most cases.

4. Stay on topic

All top-level posts to the community must reasonably relate to Dropout, a Dropout series, or a Dropout series cast member in some way.

5. No shitposts

Memes are fine, but noticeably low-quality content will be removed.

The new show on dropout is Thousandaires. Where 4 cast members all get a $1000 each to spend on each other, and new host each week picks a winner.

My question is, if you were the host of this show, who would you pick as your 4 cast members?

I think the show could use a lot more wholesome segments, so with the knowledge of the behind-the-scenes cast dynamics I would choose people who would be most likely to want to do things to make each other's lives better.

I loved the episode of Game Changers where the cast just tried to make Jess happy. An episode where they all do improv for free so they can give each other $1000 in cash at the end of each segment would be in a similar vein.

I don't know if there's quite a dynamic for the show yet, so I'd probably just go with my favorites: Brennan, Sam, Iffy, and Vic

While I agree, the show is very much still finding it's legs, but I do think the newest episode (episode 3 for those from the future) was the best episode so far.

For example, I did not like Sam's segment, but I loved Katie's. Which I don't quite think is Sam's fault in the same way as Tao's (because he basically rigged it for himself).

Though to awnser my own question, I'd probably do the World's Beyond Number crew, Brennan, Erika, Lou, and Aabria.

Tao's was absurd. The only excuse I can think of is that he thought it would be funny to win his own challenge and it didn't quite land. Otherwise he's not playing within the spirit of the game

This is a great question. In the most recent episode I really liked how down everyone was, and I think that's the main thing you want in a cast member for an episode.

Brennan, Jake, Vic, Zac. Alternatively, the noise boys plus Sam would be funny.

Hey remember when these guys fired Drawfee for being "unprofitable" only for Drawfee to go independent and be successful but also now no longer having a corporate parasite to deal with?

You are confusing things. IAC shut down both CollegeHumor and Drawfee in 2020. Sam Reich bought CollegeHumor and resurrected it as Dropout. Drawfee also went indie. "These guys" haven't been involved since 2020
