Very good stage.
I like this stages for starting the Tour, a lot of riders are aware that it is not for them and is less likely to see accidents in the peloton.

I admit, I'm really happy for Bardet. And it feels right to have a Frenchman in the first yellow jersey, even if it's likely to go to a Dane or Slovenian or Belgian.
And Van den Broek was a revelation! That kid is incredibly strong, what a Tour debut! Very impressive.

Is embarrassing to see a professional rider like this. He should have retired years ago.
He had two blank years in 2019 and 2020, until the magic from Lefevre made him win 4 stages in the Tour. It was so weird that it wasn't selected for the next Tour.
What on earth was that mid neutral zone stop!? I've never seen anyone like that before, there must be some pretty interesting politics behind that.
My thought too. Would be interesting to hear the story behind that.
Let's gooooo!
Let's hope for an entertaining Tour with great GC battles and foremost a safe journey for the riders. 🚵☀️
Yes. Entertainment is great, but things have been so rough this year -- safety should come first. Let's goooo!
One of the best first stages I can remember. So many talking points, so much drama, so many feel good moments at the end. It's crazy to think a decade or so ago we would have had some incredibly boring prologue stage instead of this.
It has been a god start, with a competitive breakaway .
But the win is still on the peloton. It will be a good fight.
Now I'm in serious doubt about the pack's chances. The DSM duo is doing very good, if they manage to keep their gap on this climb, they maybe arrive with enough time to the finish.
Now, after some kilometers with UAE in front Visma has taken the lead. Will this mean that Vingegaard is in a good shape? Or they are playing mind games to soften Pogacar?
