I hope they update the Molly AI to detect when this happens - and to backtrack though the hole, and to put down a sign, and to write "fuck you, haha" on the sign, and then to continue onward.

Deep Rock seriously needs to invest in some better equipment.

I think it's hilarious when this happens. Especially when you're scout in the sand caves or you have rocky mountain so you can just peace the fuck out through the hole

I see blue armor, scout just needs to grapple out! Now when you're a gunner and out of lines, ah, that's true cruelty!

Too high up, his recharge will never let him get up the hole. Special Powder superiority tho

Driller: Straight ahead it is, then.

If you are an engineer, this is why we plug holes made from resupply pods.

this. failing to plan for escape is a skill issue (I'm unskilled)

Funny I just finished a round. I made sure to stick near the driller. He ran out of ammo, but luckily we were only a minute of pick axing away.

You have the grapple hook.

Don't play the game myself, if this is a real thing what's the solution?

You can dig through rock. The various classes also have different special skills e.g. platform guns. There's also, often an easier way around. Unfortunately, Molly doesn't care for the easiest route, she takes the shortest.

Look at map, pray to Karl that you don't get ganked, then run or drill.

Though the better option is to go back about half-way and call the escape pod from there. Although if you have a good driller it won't really matter.

Have good situational awareness. Molly only does this at the very end of the mission. If you were paying attention earlier, then you know which way to go. Navigating and quickly memorising cave layouts is one of the game's core skills, just as important as your aim or your weapon build.

The scout here is only following Molly because the cave was too complex for him to memorise. That's a skill issue.

this is my only gripe with this game

there is nothing fun about this

I feel this.

As driller, yeah, making sure there's a tunnel up is my main job. Usually Molly takes my tunnels, which means I did them right.

In the olden days, Molly's pathfinding would sometimes fail, which is why the Drop Pod will open fifteen seconds before launch even if Molly is not collected. So some of us OG miners don't trust Molly to take us home anyway... or don't like to trust Molly. Sometimes we're desperate.

We still have troubles sometimes during Simple Mining missions in which the cave has too much verticality, which can make a fail state for solo engineers in rare cases. As with Bulk Detonators at the end of Salvage, sometimes Hoxxes is unkind. Curiously, with all other mission types since, exfiltration depends way less on the vigilance of the crew assuring accessibility to upper levels.

And that resupply pod probably downed some dwarf before
