I am working on a laptop and used a hot air rework station to soften plastic rivets to remove a keyboard. As I slid the keyboard up, the rivets were left intact, but the tops cooled and mushroomed. They are now too wide for me to get the small holes on the new keyboard back over the rivet shafts so I can melt them back into place.

I’m looking for suggestions for some kind of tool where I can apply even cylindrical pressure to the outside of the rivets in order to squeeze in the sides and thin out the rivet tops as I apply hot air to them.
