The factual accuracy of this legend is somewhat dubious, but it is a fascinating legend which few flags can match.
Even if the flag does not date back to the battle of Lyndanisse, the Danish flag is (arguably) the national flag that has been in continuous use the longest, dating back to the 13th or 14th century.
