“Bandes dessinée” refers to Franco-Belgian comics, but let's open things up to include all Euro comics, especially graphic novels. Comics & art from around the world with ‘Euro-stylings' are also welcome. ^^

I hadn't checked Mastodon for a while (I do it like this, which is also on the side bar), and discovered a load of promising titles coming out. Or which came out recently, I guess.

Pics of the albums are in the thumbnail / lead image, and below is a listing with news sources. Some are in English, but with others need you'll to hit the "translate" button:

NOTE: Jon Juarez is the artist for the bottom left one (Scavengers Reign), someone who I previously covered a little bit here.

Scavenger’s Reign looks really good!

As I learned afterwards, it's a companion (or adaptation?) of the new animated series, which was itself based on this short from around ten years ago:

EDIT: No, I'm wrong. It's not a BD; just refers to the series moving to Netflix and being re-released there.

I just finished binging s1 of the netflix series and I loved it so much! The color palette, the landscapes, ecosystems and the tech, everything seems to be inspired by Moebius style and also by the movie Alien. I especially enjoyed the design of the ecosystem and in particular how they came up with so many fantastic species that even have plausible life cycles with different phases and even convincing symbioses that seem like believable results of co-evolution of species! I have not discovered something so fascinating for a long time! Thank you so much for pointing it out! I am a little confused though, are you saying there is more then s1 of the netflix show?

You're welcome, and I look forward to it myself! (so far I've only seen the original short and some previews)

Someone in the BD sub mentioned that it reminded them of the work of LEO (Aldebaran, etc etc) and I agree with that, too.

Anyway, in the Mastodon thread linked above, someone in the comments said that if the show does well in S1, then Netflix will supposedly order a S2.

Prepare for a crazy experience then, enjoy!

True, the styles are pretty similar, guess I'll have to read that.

Netflix will supposedly order a S2.

I can't wait to watch that, s1 ends in a very promising way.
