How does the community search work? (vlemmy.net)

Whenever I try to search for a community, it's a 50/50 wether I find it or not. Somehow it seems to relate to the lemmy instance aswell. For example vlemmy and lemmy.fmhy.ml struggle to find me_irl while feddit.de has no problems with that.

I guess that is how it works for now. Probably some wonky instance connection issue. Would need some bugfix.

I heard it from somewhere else, but it only pops up if someone else in that same instance subbed to it before. Otherwise typing in the entire link supposely works.

I tried typing in for pokemon last time, but their instance seemed to be down at the time.

Edit: I checked it and its working for me now.
