Thought I'd share this one as my first post here because it makes me smile every time.

The pattern is Lorelei Cardigan by Deni Sharpe who is one of my favourite crochet designers, her stuff is always fairly simple to make and just looks good.

So I'd made my own mustard yellow version of this and worn it basically every day for a whole year (you can probably see it's a bit worse for wear in this photo, and believe me I've worn it a LOT more since!) and my grandma was very taken with it. Her favourite colour is blindingly bright red, so it was obvious what I had to do.

Most of the red one was made while doing a day-long marathon of the LotR extended editions, and my wrists were sore the next day. But the whole thing worked up pretty quickly and I reckon I managed to get her pockets attached much more securely than I ever did mine, so that's a win!

Needless to say, she loved it. Major granddaughter points right there.

Damn, ..and you both are wearing them like Profesionals! Kudos

Thanks! Only just realising how much longer mine is than hers, that's what carrying a giant phone around in the pockets every day will do ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm normally not that much of a fan of crochet cardigans, but these are stunning! I love the drape (and that mustard yellow is chefs' kiss!)

Thanks! Me neither tbh but I saw this pattern and fell in love. Honestly, wouldn't be opposed to making even more of them in different colours (and maybe another mustard one too because it's definitely been worn to death haha)

These are both gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing; think I know what my next project is going to be!

Did you use the recommended yarn (Stylecraft Special Aran)?

I did, for both of them I think but definitely for the yellow. It's definitely a bit worse for wear now but I think that's less the cheap yarn and more just the sheer amount I've worn the thing!

That's really good to know, thank you! My bank account prefers cheap yarn for sure!

It's also nice when a pattern suggests yarn that's readily available in the UK. So often it's hard to find the suggested yarn for patterns here, and I'm not quite experienced enough yet to know whether a substitution will give me the results I'm looking for.

Those look great! I've just checked out the Deni Sharpe patterns on Ravelry and my project list is significantly longer now. She does great designs!

She really does, and they're always straightforward and well written!

I've also made her Lailah Swoncho, which is a bit more ridiculous especially in the yarn I used but is awaiting tassels before I post it here, and a pocket shawl I can't remember the exact same of it but it's cozy af (I also need to finish the tassels on that, tassels are my nemesis ๐Ÿ˜…).

Made a jumper of some sort too but I messed up and over-blocked it and the less said about that the better. Wasn't the designers fault, though, just me being a divvy!
