The folks over at pawb.social have already forked the code and plan to make changes which might eventually be added upstream.
Furries are like the lowest social class from the 1927 movie metropolis, they keep the tubes flowing and do a lot of the hard work for keeping things running and improving.
Except they got a college degree in IT and work as a software engineer receiving a high salary. That's why the wealthy furry meme exists.
