The catch is that they lie about whether autopilot was enabled. Disabling it .3 seconds before a collision means it was off, according to Tesla.

Well that's just not true, if it's disabled within 5 seconds they still count it as autopilot.
They also count getting rear-ended, but don't break it down that far.
I have a feeling if Tesla can fudge data and falsify it, they do.
ID like to compare this to stuff like waymo and see how they compare if they are both significantly higher safety than the non assisted drivers then that shows its working
Article from last December— not exactly 1:1, but they claim 0.38 injuries per million miles in AZ (vs 1.29 for humans), and 0.57 injuries per million miles in SF (vs 3.79). This is 2.4 million miles per accident with injuries; I couldn’t find similar data on just accidents in general.
Tesla by this same metric is 0.13, for all accidents, not just those with injuries (lower is better).

My Tesla could fuck the shit out of this stat. FSD is a fraud, and anyone promoting it as ready for automous driving is drunk on copium or outright a fanboi/fangurl. I mean I love my Tesla, it's a great car, but the FSD is a joke.
