Also playing TotK. I have friends who have "finished" the game, or early on were telling me they already had the master sword. I'm just ADHDing my way across the map, and haven't really accomplished too much. Great game!
Nintendo Switch

Same, and honestly everytime I ignore all the stuff to just get somewhere or do something specific, the game is so much worse.
It always takes me hours to get anywhere but the journey is mostly filled with fun and silly advetures.
The only thing that kinda sucks is how long it takes to get more battery charges. I want to build and use all the fun stuff before im finished with everything else -.-
I have like 3 or 4 of the little batteries, and honestly, I'm not sure how I even got them.
I was just chatting with a friend about this, I really don't build stuff, unless I need to. Hell, I don't think I've even gotten on a horse yet, and I have all the sky towers done already, and have been over most of the map (except underground).
I'm like the dog from the movie Up. Squirrel!!!
This is going to be a piece of advice for TOTK, not sure how to spoiler tag on this platform yet, so if you're not interested just skip on by. This is not really a spoiler in any sense though.
I went a huge portion of the game without upgrading my battery. I had 600 of the charge things before I figured it out, enough to triple my battery life. There's a construct you encounter on the tutorial island who tells you how to upgrade your battery, but it's way too soon for you to be able to afford it. There's just way too much vocabulary going around at the time so I totally missed it. There's another construct on a big rock behind the first little settlement you find on the ground, in front of Hyrule castle. Either of those places are easy to warp too. They charge 100 of the upside down triangle charges to give an extra battery notch. You can add one at a time; you don't have to wait to have 300 to add a whole new battery. The depths are the easiest place to get more of those charges. You will not max out the battery capacity for a very long time unless you make it your full time job.
I've got like 150 hours total and literally just beat my second temple tonight... but I've got 5 batteries and it's dope totally worth grinding the depths, grinding is a poor word more like exploring and having a blast.
I've just been running back and forth across the land. I think I've made about 1 hour of progress in like 30.
Yeah I'm with you and the others, I didn't have much playtime this past month, but it was all TotK ! I'm trying to free some time to play this Friday to continue not staying focused on the main quests.
I feel like I won't play much of anything else for some time... Event though I haven't finished Horizon Zero dawn... I mean, I want to finish it, but Zelda is just more appealing right now !
The quest line that leads to the master sword actually drives a significant amount of map exploration and story exposition. It's very satisfying to take on early-game, IMO.
I've been all over the map, and have all the sky towers completed, I just haven't even heard mention of the master sword yet. I just play the game very by the seat of my pants style.
I typically get distracted by a side quest. Start that. Get distracted by something else. Start that. Get distracted by something else. Rinse. Repeat.
I think I did it earlier than I was supposed to. In BOTW the attitude was kind of, get it whenever you get around to it. They seem to have kind of integrated getting more it into the story, so I assume you'll kind of start hearing about it when you progress the main story far enough.
I remember how I felt when I finished the main story in BoTW, like it ended too soon (this after more than 250 hours of playing). So in ToTK I'm only doing main story elements when I want a break from all of the other stuff: exploring, side quests, shrines, hunting, upgrading gear, etc. I haven't gotten into building much, yet, which I figure will be a post-main story just being silly activity for me. I love seeing all the crazy things others have been building.
Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom.
And then MORE Tears of the Kingdom!
Just crossed 100 shrines last night, might knock out my 3rd temple soon. It's been such a great game to explore and consume, quite possibly an all-time fav right now.
Ha, similar story for me. TotK is an absolute masterpiece. It takes all of my free time and I’m totally okay with it.
I'd been in a bit of a gaming slump and this hit right at the perfect time.
It was such a breath of fresh air to have a major release like this drop and have it actually be tested and playable and fun from day 1. It actually kind of made me excited for new games again for a bit.
One of the things I'm really enjoying with it is that I can pick it up for 5-10 minutes when I need a break, and just set myself up for a discrete "next step." Sometimes that's going from one place to another, solving a shrine, upgrading my battery, and sometimes it's "try to beat this miniboss a couple of times." All the MMOs I play on my laptop require me to have a larger block of time.
I was in a rush to get through BotW and our first child was nearly on the was (3/24 birthday) and I wanted to finish before my life went topsy turvy...
I've don't the exacts opposite with TotK and I love its ability to distract me. "Let me go over here and accomplish X or Y" On the way to X or Y gets distracted by A, B, and C...
2 Hours later....
"Let me go over to X now".
It's fantastic.
TOTK here. Actually bought a Switch JUST for this game. Did not disappoint at all.
I just started BOTW. I have twin newborns and having something that I can pick up for short amounts of time between feeds and changes is fantastic.
Working my way through Breath of the Wild, actually. Very slowly and leisurely.
Been on a Dead Cells bender lately, but that's starting to die down now.
Dead Cells is such an amazing game! I keep going back to it once in a while and get re-hooked.
I hope you enjoy BotW, it's really fantastic. Don't forget to stop sometimes when you're in a field and just take it in for a moment - the breeze blows the grass all around and maybe a bit of music plays or you hear birds chirping.. it's very unexpectedly relaxing.
Just starting Astral Chain.
It feels like it's going to be a wild and strange game.
Dang....some day I need to get back to that, but at this point, I'd likely just need to completely start over....
(whoops I wrote all this without noticing I'm in the NS mag specifically, sorry! real answer: MORE TOTK!!)
I finally started Control on PC recently and I've really been enjoying it. The combat is fairly generic third person shooter with 'abilities' on top, but the lore and story stuff is really cool. I have a big weakness for the so-called 'objects of power' thing, I was a big fan of The Lost Room (TV; 2006 miniseries) and Warehouse 13 (TV; 2009-2014) for that reason, and I really enjoyed the old SCPs before it got too "off-the-rails" so this all has fir right in to my interests. I was really excited to discover that Alan Wake and Quantum Break are evidently a part of the universe, which I suppose makes a lot of sense.
When I'm not making progress in Control, though, it's more Tears of the Kingdom for sure. There are still more shrines to get and after 180 hours I finally just figured out that I can get some help finding where caves are, so there's more to do!
No worries! I made a similar mistake in patientgamers
Totk when I'm not busy getting furious at mario kart!!!
I actually just took a break from playing anything and I'm catching up on some shows. The TotK bug hit me hard for a month straight.
I think in a few days I'll be back to try more Zonai device ideas though. My arsenal of cartoon military vehicles can always get bigger lol
Actually just started Hyrule Warriors: Age of calamity last night. I enjoy it so far, especially cause there's no weapon deterioration like the other switch Zelda games. But it's a really fun hack and slash.
Is the performance still ass?
I want to buy it and the original Hyrule Warriors, but I remember Age of Calamity having a pretty jarring performance at times.
I've had it stutter a few times, especially when there's a lot on the screen and you do a fancy combo. Nothing game breaking, just kind of annoying.
pokemon snap. It's finals week for me and I needed something nice and chill.
My wife is playing Tears of the Kingdom, and I'm replaying Skyward Sword on Hard Mode and Ocarina of Time. Really, I've been playing all of the Zelda games available, and really hoping for an announcement about Wind Waker.
Trying to get back playing monster hunter. I would like to play with TOTK but we just moved to our new home since we've been living with my parents and had to buy some appliances for the new home. Uninstalled facebook to keep myself from getting spoiled.
Gonna be mostly playing Fall Guys with with the missus.
Had a bunch of game progresses paused. I was around 60-ish hours in BotW but needed a break. Trying to find my next long play.
Also did started playing a bit of Atelier Ryza 1 and Persona 5 Royal just as a taste test and see which one could hook me on the weekends. Didn’t have too much time though to have longer sessions.
There’s also a sale going on and thought maybe I needed some short burst games to play during the weekdays to wind down if I couldn’t commit to longer play session.
Thinking about getting Into the Breach, Hades, and Dicey Dungeons.
Also, Dark Souls on sale. Always wanted to play that.
I think I’m gonna go join the /m/patientgamers as well. Hahah
Patient gaming is a blessing. We have 30 years of amazing games available to us, all at once. Many games, despite old, are still fantastic.
Definitely recommend Dark Souls, I love it. Already played a ton of it in the past, considering getting it again on the Switch for myself. But I just had to order new analog sticks so that might have to wait.
Alright I'm sold! Adding Dark Souls to my cart. Did some searching around and performance doesn't seem to be too bad on the switch.
I was hoping Xenoblade chronicles (1) was going to go on sale and judging from its history on dekudeals it should go on sale around about now. Anyways, got until the 25th on June before the sales end for most of them.
I can definitely recommend into the breach and dicey dungeons. Note that both (can) take a long time to really 'finish'.
Still playing Tears of the Kingdom! I finished the story two weeks ago, and I've just been running around doing filling out the map and doing quests.
I feel like I should be doing an expedition in No Mans Sky before it closes, but I really just wanna play TOTK.
I'm flipping between 'Tears of the Kingdom' and working to finish out my Star Path in 'Dreamlight Valley.'
I'm still playing Tears of the Kingdom as well. I held on to v1.1.1 for quite some time and duped the dragon parts since they're time consuming to farm. Now that I've let it update, I'm gonna take it a bit slower with TotK. I've wanted to play other switch games for a while.
Tears of the Kingdom as well, I’m loving this game. I already played BotW twice, but TOTK keeps surprising me in lots of ways.
Still playing Animal Crossing with my morning coffee, then TOTK if I have a chunk of time to play, Cassette Beasts if I just have a little time to kill.
Pokemon Legends Arceus (for the billionth time) and possibly Etrian Odyssey III (which I've never actually played).
Am I the only one who just didn't get excited about TOTK?
I wanted to be excited for it. The artwork is beautiful, but watching the early stages of a play-through just left me feeling less invested than I would have expected.
I'm sure I'll play it eventually, and just because I've said all this, I will find that I love it.
Just beat Ghost of Tsushima last night, finally, absolutely amazing game of course. Took me about 2 years. Now onto Tears of The Kingdom!
I recently popped Captain Toad into my Switch and realised I did one level and never came back to it, so I’ve been playing through that in bits every now and then.
Likely more totk. 'Cause it's so damn good.
Zelda TikTok, Fire Emblem Engage and maybe a check on my AC Island
