Y'all should be out marching in the streets to get this thing passed. Democrats are not going to pass this thing unless you hold their feet to the fire. This would be a huge leap towards restabilizing the US political climate and breaking you out of two party hell.
Liberal Gun Owners
A community for pro-gun liberals.
I agree but I don’t think it’s sexy or emotional enough to get people in the streets. It definitely should appeal to BLM and pro-Palestinian crowd, but it’s not gonna get people fired up like “stop killing people” will.
I’m going to start canvassing for it locally and see where it goes from there. I think given the two candidates we’re stuck with for the upcoming election we’re ripe for a change like this.
I think with a push it could be. There's a lot of folk matching regarding what amounts to institutional stagnation. This really is an underlying issue for a lot of stuff people are marching about.
Would it be possible to do the other two without RCV? It seems like that would be the most controversial part and will likely kill the bill entirely.
Have you seen people against RCV? Or do mean by those who favor another alternative voting system more (like STAR)? I have heard of a big anti RCV crowd.
I see conservatives complaining about it occasionally, but I'm not sure how prevalent that sentiment is among them.
Fair question.
