Is this bad? 4k is becoming really common with cheap displays. If expect DVD to fall way off in favor of better formats.

It doesn't seem unusual. DVD is in the process of being replaced by something better.
VHS > DVD > Blu-ray > 4K Blu-ray
I mean, this is where we are heading. Why would anyone buy anything less than 4k BR if they are buying new?
This isn't necessarily a good thing. 4K is growing at the expense of Blu-ray, while DVD is only getting more popular.
