That was… slow. But I got there. I came back to it about 4 times throughout the day. Initially I got the NE and then the middle, and struggled the most with 28D and 31D, as well as a number of their crosses.

Any week I get all the way to Saturday I’m pretty happy, and this week I got them all, so that’s a win!

Nice!

How long have you been doing NYT crosswords?

I started during covid and could only do Monday and some Tuesdays, but with a few years of practice I can get most days now (with those odd days when it just doesn’t click). I am not a speed solver or a streak chaser, but I enjoy doing it every day!

Edit: And I used to like going to r/crosswords after I solved and seeing what others thought. I rarely commented there, but I feel a drive to help kick off this new community here on Lemmy, so I’ll keep chiming in around here!

Wew lad that was bad. I wasn't confident about some of the answers so I hesitated in entering them, losing time.

Started off strong with the NW corner and then dumpster-fired the rest.

Didn't like the clue and answer for "59A O.E.D. unit: Abbr.".

Two French clues today. Learnt some French in school 15-17 years ago, but I've gotten it all. Need to re-learn the basics of it and Spanish and Portuguese.

French is the bane of my crossword existence and makes me feel so dumb. But Spanish is comfortable (and a bit more common?) so I guess it’s a semi fair trade.
