[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Well pretty nice except for paid app that don't work under calyx otherwise it feel reply nice to not have additional layer on android . (and no in app ads that s cool)

Really? Which apps don't habe ads anymore after the switch? I perdonally just don't use apps with ads (all apps from F-Droid), so this is rather new to me.

Well for example I use sync for lemmy in free version and I don't have any ads . but I can t use sync ultra because that an in app paid option , and since I don't have the google services on my phone that don't work.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Huh, never heard of Sync... But interesting that thus disables ads in these apps.

Sync was a popular 3rd app for reddit and I used it until they block it after that I came from reddit to lemmy when there was only jerboa . When sync for lemmy came out I re switched to it because I was more familiar with the ui .

Just carrier branded BS in general. I'm unable to install Graphene because of TMobile.

There exists an unexpectedly well made 4D minesweeper, if that sounds fun to ya

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago

Eh, I like the simplicity of 2d minesweeper

Hell yeah. I switched from iOS to a Pixel running GrapheneOS a month ago and I've been loving it.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago

Haj looks proud to have helped in the process

Yay, gg for degoogled your phone ! GrapheneOS user here, on Pixel 6a. For now, I didn't have any trouble, even though I'm a fairly advanced Android user.

I literally gave my iphone away and went straight into pixel 3 and calyxOS, been loving it! Got termux, and therefore have zotify working on a debian instance so downloading music is an absolute brease :3

I'm running Kenvyra (Lineage fork) on my Mi 9T, still with microg, but otherwise google free pretty neat and good for battery life :3

Degoogled my pixel. I will use that after my surgery 😄

Or am I just weird for thinking it is a nice phrase to use for transitioning.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Do you mean it as in decrapify myself? If so, I really like that metaphor <3

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

Yes, but also as a convenient way to not have to talk about certain bodyparts that tend to give us dysphoria.

Like: I feel so much better after my pixel was degoogled.
