Object permanence is the understanding that whether an object can be sensed has no effect on whether it continues to exist.
People who eat meat while maintaining that they "love animals" are like babies playing peekaboo, except except of a parent's face being hidden behind their hands, it's animal cruelty being hidden behind slaughterhouse walls.
