I am 40, and I have only been to a doctor once about 5 years ago since my pediatrician. My wife made me go just to make sure I was ok. Outside of that, I probably have been to an urgent care like 5 times in 20 something years as well when I got really sick. I am not thrilled with this solution, but I agree that Healthcare costs are too much to go. I really hope that we see a drastic change in our system within my lifetime, but I have my doubts.

Giving up? Mother fucker we're not going because it costs too much not because we're "giving it up". Lots of little shit I would love to get a doctor's opinion on, but it's not worth the several hundred dollar visit, especially my last 3 doctors who give you 10 minutes per visit just to rush you along and tell you "oh you're just getting older" or "I can suggest a specialist". Cool, what the fuck did I come to you for? So you could bill me and shift the issue onto someone else, pushing the timeline of finding a solution further down the road.

Meanwhile my friends that have good jobs with amazing insurance....don't go. On the grounds of "I'm fine I don't need no doctor"
