Gov. Jay Inslee signed the bill to hasten Puget Sound Energy’s shift from natural gas to clean energy. Critics contend it will lead to higher energy bills for ratepayers.

The controversy is that it might reduce profits on the short.

Inslee should announce a plan to ease PSE's concerns of higher cost to their customers by offering major discounts on solar panels for those affected. I'm sure PSE would be happy with a plan like that considering how concerned they are for their customers.

SCL seems to be fine not using fossil fuels and maintaining a cheap rate. Shouldn't a private company like PSE be more efficient? Or are the coal mines they own not so profitable?
