Fairphone proves the usual excuses for ending Android support aren't valid.

Now this is what I call support. 7 years is really good, and given the state of SoCs is probably long enough to think about a next upgrade.

They never were valid; it's just planned obsolescence via cutting support way too soon! As corpos can't make money from supporting a few devices long term. I'd love to get a Fairphone 3, because limiting the number of disposable devices is in our best interest. Earth derived resources won't last forever, pouring so much into technology that's rendered disposable by corporate intention...Doesn't feel right.
