But you do realize that the Drew Barrymore version was based on a 1970's TV show?

There's a subtle dig in the first scene when 5 foot 2 inch tall Drew [disguised as 6 foot 3 inch LL Cool J] talks smack about 'T.J. Hooker - The Movie"

Jesus, relax. Everyone gets it. It was a 90s tag line for, checks notes... a B-Movie. That's part of B-Movie charm.

The always brilliant Michelle Yeoh as Invisible Girl.

The fabulous Anita Mui (RIP) as Wonder Woman.

The adorable Maggie Cheung as Thief Catcher.

A beautiful boxset! The sequel is severely meh, sadly enough.

The movie is also streaming on The Criterion Channel.

Makes you wonder when Saviour of the soul will get a BD release. I love that movie too!

I have no doubt some hip boutique label will eventually release it. I'm not sure I will buy it, however, since it's a bit too silly for my taste. 😅
