Hey I just signed up here! I'm a new lemmy convert and long time SC fan. I looked at some other lemmy sites but I really only used reddit to look at the sc subreddit so homing my account here seemed like the better choice! I hope more people from that subreddit make the move to lemmy.

Welcome! I was in the same boat as you and there weren't any SC specific instances yet, which drove me to set this one up. I also hope more people can make the change, as I really can't support mainstream social media sites anymore. We're glad to have you hear. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Glad to have found this place! I know it will take a long time for people to finally come off reddit, but I hope they do it sooner than later. It's really hard to find info about the game anywhere else.
