An even better reason to avoid NVIDIA at all costs. Intel ain't much better but at least their shit works well with Linux. I am an AMD GPU fan through and through.

AMD also caught some flak recently due to possibly blocking sponsored game partners from implementing competing upscaling technologies though (DLSS/XeSS). Still prefer AMD over nvidia though

Me too! But corporations are gonna corporate. That's what they do.

Would be nice if they were investigated for anti-competitive practices when they do stuff like this.

I was disappointed to find out all this super cool linux gaming Valve has been working on is just unattainable for me.

Why is that? Proton runs perfectly fine on all major hardware excepting Apple Silicon and other ARM chips

When I look up Nivida and proton I see nothing but how it's incompatible

Nvidia has more issues on Linux for sure, but its not a guerented death sentence. I would try it out and see if you like it. I daily drive and game on fedora on laptop with nvidia proprietary drivers.

They certainly have some issues but it's not nearly that bad. Note that you might also find many people who didn't install the proprietary drivers in which case you can expect just about nothing to work as it should.

More like "entirely expected", especially after the Geforce Partner Program.
