I assume this is a place to ask about things when you're out of the loop. People kept saying Lemmy is "beans". What is that all about?

There were a bunch of memes going around Lemmy about a week ago on popular meme communities about beans.

Memes kind of like this for example. That and the don't poop meme were some of the first big memes since the wave of people arrived after Reddit's blackout.

okay now do the rule posts? Why is there like a rule that that days post must be according to a theme? and why isn't that theme consistent and where even is the theme?

I'm not sure about that exactly. 196 and similar communities started requiring the word rule in post titles because I think you were supposed to post before you leave. I think it had to do with a previous community named 195

All I know is a few days ago everyone was posting memes with pictures of beans. I assume it has something to do with that.
