One theory is that it was actually the Britannic, which had been damaged at the dock and which they sank for insurance, knowing that it would break apart eventually.

Would there be an identification plate or log in the radio room that shows it being the Britannic, left there because no passenger would likely see it?

Didn't someone we know tweet a line from a certain movie about a ship disaster?
