Boomer Shooter

"Boomer Shooters" are a sub-genre of first-person shooter (FPS) games, known for harking back to the fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled action of 1990s classics like DOOM, Quake, and Duke Nukem. They emphasize run-and-gun gameplay, maze-like level design, and an arsenal of diverse weapons. With little regard for realism, these games prioritize explosive action, non-linear exploration, and often feature fantastical, over-the-top enemies and environments.

Just wondering, why is Ultrakill considered a boomer shooter ?

Game play and graphic elements both add to the reasoning of it being considered a boomer shooter.

The article is about Boomer Shooters that are fully verified on Steam OS. I can’t find anything that indicates this is even available on Steam, much less fully verified.

You are right, it is a free open-source boomer shooter that has been developed since 2007.

So, yeah + not a Steam / SteamOS game... It IS cross platform though.

Right now I can’t test it. So all I can do is say “not fully verified for steam deck,” which is what my post was about. If you would like, post a list of open-source boomer shooters that are cross platform. I bet people would be interested in the list.

All good, I don't know why I didn't notice the steam deck reference (I mean you posted the image), sorry about the confusion.
