Looks like renovation and they put a sheet over the railings (same height as the escalator railings).

Yeah I think there’s a floor above and it’s just not being used right now. Still looks weird though.

Probably renovating that floor, or downsizing. Lots of people aren’t shopping at malls and department stores.

Because there was another floor for the same business but perhaps the business went under (I'm thinking of Sears around here) and the mall building owners are leasing it to two different businesses.
