ADSB RTL-SDR help (self.opensource)
submitted 2 months ago by Dust0741 to c/[email protected]

I'm trying to setup adsb on a mini Linux box I have.

I have a rtl-sdr. I want a webpage I can access hosted on the box to see the map of the data I know I need a decoding software and webpage one I dont want to feed my data to any of the adsb sites I want to be able to use this without internet, so downloading OSM maps is ideal

Some software ive found: readsb decoding tar1090 for webpage

Is there any good tutorials for this? Also I dont love just running a shell script, so have the above been verified as safe?

Thanks!

xcsoar will run on your device as a native app instead of a web page. It has maps and will show the received traffic. if you are reading out as gdl90 this was for android but may help get it into xcsoar on linux

This was how I did it, or at least what worked for me. https://www.n9drb.com/notes/#ADSB%20feeding

dump1090 comes with a webpage showing which aircraft it is currently tracking, although I suspect the maps don't run offline.
