I can tolerate season 1 because I’ve got a soft spot for the Terran Empire but the rest is pretty much unwatchable. Especially season 3. What the hell was that?
Welcome to a Star Trek community where you’re free to chat and share your opinions about all things Trek!
I want to have a place where fans can come to praise, discuss, and even criticise things in the Star Trek franchise. No show or movie is perfect, and I don't believe people should be silenced for having a dissenting opinion. That being said, there are still a few rules.
Be Nice - No personal attacks. You can disagree with someone's opinion, but it needs to stop there.
No Slurs - This is applicable to ethnicity, religion, gender, or anything else.
No Adult Content - Keep it family friendly.
No Spamming or Trolling - Consistently spamming comments or trolling is just not needed.
Please keep topics Trek related or Trek adjacent for the most part, and have fun!

Didnt like it, felt too removed about what the series was at it's roots.
Also the tech seemed centuries ahead of what they had in the future, and I know it's a nitpicky detail but it really turned me off for some reason.
I felt like the quality of the writing was abysmal, it was alot of action for action's sake.
I do like Discovery.
Just want to see if I get downvoted again
Lol I hope not everyone has a trek that makes them happy
I can't remember if I finished the second season, and am not hankering to go back for more. So I don't think you're alone.
I think the end of s2 is when they get flung into the distant future, so if you didn't see that you didn't finish it. I think I'm a couple seasons behind. I didn't hate it per se, just frustrated and a little bored that it was the Michael Burnham show for all of s1 and most of s2 instead of literally every other trek being ensemble shows.
I did see that part, and where she meets up with the rest of the crew. And that's about as far as I remember. Something about all dilithium going boom.
That means you missed The Burn story from season 3. You should watch that as soon as possible.
Let us know if binging it is better than watching weekly.
Sadly I don't have access anymore. A friend was giving me access (which I used for Picard, come to think of it, and I've only seen season one), but they moved. Guess I'll have to break out my peg leg and eye patch.
Arrrr matey!
You talking about STD?
I didn't even bother watching it. I'm really tired of them spinning up shows from the timeline prior to TNG, because it inevitably leads to all sorts of retconned bullshit. Plus, the initial trailer of STD looked very 'meh' to me anyway.
Can they please just do another shows that's chronologically after STV?! Picard looked promising, and I enjoyed season 1. But then it gradually declined in season 2-3 by focusing too much on the TNG cast and marginalizing the new characters (though to be fair I didn't even bother with season 3).
Season 3 of Picard is Star Trek at its best. Granted a lot of it will hit harder if you’re old enough to have watched TNG, DS9 & Voyager in the 90’s but please give it a chance. Especially if you liked the 12 Monkeys series.
Okay, you've convinced me. :)
The thing that put me off season 3 was not really seeing any of the season 1 or 2 characters in the trailer. That was a bummer as I liked them and wanted to see how they developed them further. But I watched TNG when it first aired and love all those characters, so that would be a massive nostalgia draw.
I really enjoyed it. I am not a die hard trek fan, but have been watching trek all my life.
