A Community for Goldfish enthusiasts. This group will mainly focus on fancy goldfish and help spread information of how better to take better care of them.

Please follow these rules/guidelines:

-Don’t bully other users. We are here to help each other get better at taking care of goldfish

-Don’t spam, promote or create excessively many posts every day

-No promotion of fish, channels, accounts, products, affiliates etc

-The general tank size recommendation for fancy goldfish (double tail) is 20-30gal (75-113l) for the first fish and 10-20gal (38-75l) for each one after. For common goldfish (single tail) 55-75gal (208-283l) for the first one and 20-30gal (75-113l) for each one after that. Smaller tanks are acceptable for treatment, or while grooming, but the above standards are what should be used even from the start-

Today I tried making gel food for the first time! I have previously made DIY food, using steamed eggs, but this time I went a bit deeper into this and made a proper batch.

I have used:

shrimp cod peas squash carrot spirulina kelp agar

This first try gave me two bags of approximately 450gr. each (16oz each). They are currently cooling and when they have settled, I should be able to freeze them and feed chunks of it to my fish without them breaking up when they enter water. Once I've tested these, and confirmed that it works, I'd be glad to share a recipe and instructions!
