I'm relatively new to MacOS and I frequently find myself needing to copy a file to my clipboard so that I can paste it somewhere else. Every time I click the share icon, I'm disappointed to see no "copy to clipboard" extension.

This is most frustrating when editing a screenshot or opening up a file in safari.

Anyone have a recommended app for this? I found this one but haven't tried it yet

You can make your own with a drag drop editor in Shortcuts. Something along the lines of “copy to clipboard” action with input from shortcut enabled and then add to share sheet on that input. It seems easier to just use copy and paste in MacOs.

There are also a couple in the shortcuts gallery online if you have not looked there.

Note: mac automator will allow you to copy click based workflows and use them across the OS.

I made that shortcut to play around with but it seemed to be hidden behind an extra menu/click:

1. click share icon
2. click shortcuts
*shortcuts menu opens*
3. click "copy to clipboard" shortcut

Is there a way to put a shortcut directly into the share sheet?
