Emulation on Android

Up until now I was using an XBOX One controller with a clip for attaching your phone, which worked well but was quite unergonomic. I had to keep my wrists in an awkward angle, which made my fingers go numb after a short amount of time.

Now I got me the Gamesir X2 Pro and I couldn't be happier. The Switch form factor is SO MUCH MORE ergonomic and with the USB C connection there's no latency at all. It's finally fun to play emulators on the phone (or to stream from my gaming PC).

The buttons are rather clicky, so the acustics can get a little annoying, but haptically they feel great. The build quaility is pretty satisfying all around.

Totally recommended if you're into phone gaming.

So happy to read this, I just bought mine and it's due in a week or two. I was previously using a clip with my DualShock 4, but the weight distribution left me with a weird feeling.

Good to hear this, I just ordered one as well for the same replacement. I do really like the xbox controller, but overall the package is pretty heavy with the phone in a Moga clip.

I wanted the Gamevice Flex, and was hoping for a restock and a sale on prime day but after checking their Twitter it doesn't seem likely to have stock soon. The ergonomics on that one seem like they might be superior for larger hands on longer play sessions, but I'm hoping the x2 pro is okay.

This all became relevant after I discovered how great emulation is on Android. I was on a business trip for a week and enjoyed playing ocarina of time 3ds and castlevania. Someone put out a native port of hollow knight that I just got 100% progress, and there's so much more to play. Haven't even gotten to streaming from my PC or Xbox cloud yet.

It's great! I'm a fan too. My only complaint is the triggers are not analog, but I've only had an issue with it on dreamcast games, so I'll play other stuff for now 😀

They are analog in the X2 Pro, even with hall effect! You're probably referring to the X2 (non Pro).

I have the X2 USB-C version and I'm struggling to get the Gamesir app to map on screen controls for my games.

I haven't even tried the app, I only play emulators, stream from my gaming PC or play games with true controller support...

How's it with eggns? I heard you need gamesir to unlock it. Is that still the case?

No idea, eggns is a shady product that I don't intend to use and support TBH.
