Oh, nonono, we are using our thousands separator, as makes sense. The dot splits the IP-address into blocks of, well, not 1000, but 256.

You are the ones constructing this horrible pseudo-number with three (3) decimal separators. I don't even know how you manage to read IP-adresses.
