Turns out the USB-C port fell out. I've been very careful with it, no drops and no excessive strain on the port.

From the image seems like the pins broke off from the usb and are left on the board? If you have some soldering skill you can try to replace usb

And if you don't have the soldering skills you might be able to call around to phone repair shops, someone around them might have the skills necessary for this to be a cheap fix, especially since you already have it apart like this.

The pads look intact, which makes it a much easier repair than it could have been.
