I've never played the same game twice in my entire life, so I was wondering: What's up with NG, NG+ and things like that? What sort of experience are people after when they replay a game? I just can't seem to see any value in replaying the same game again.

Cannot speak for RE, but when I do it, it is to collect things I have missed.

If the game is also fun, I just enjoy playing it with what I already have. Probably goes into the power fantasy realm

Might give it a go on the Dead Space Remake that I'm currently playing. So as I udnerstand, you mostly keep your items and upgrades and are able to blast through shit much more easily?

Usually, that's how it's done.

Occasionally, there are also games that add new abilities or features

I often play the same game again, I usually wait at least a few months however. I'm actually kind of jealous of those who get their moneys worth by playing the same game 3-4 times in a month lol.
