This small tree has been growing in the edge of my property for a long time, at first I thought it was a young loquat. The fruit is about the size of a large cherry

There's a pretty cool app called PlantNet. This is what it thinks of your first pic. When I check the photos of the tallowood top match, it looks the same to me.

Try breaking a leaf off and crush it and see how it smells. Most citrus trees have a strong citrus scent. Kinda looks like a super smooth lemon though.

Ximenia americana looks to be a good match visually and geographically, though I’m unfamiliar with it. The size and seasonality of the fruit make me skeptical of citrus.
