Hi all,

I was wondering what everyone is putting in their sidebars? So far I have:

  • Community Description
  • Community Rules
  • Community Specific Lemmy Usage Tips
  • Similar Community Recommendations

I have a brief description of what the group is about, then links to posts containing the complete rules/guidelines, FAQs and discussion posts, and a feedback and suggestions post. The posts (except for feedback) is locked to users so they are for reference only.

Putting them in seperate posts allows me to add more information without overwhelming the sidebar, and I am slowly adding information to the FAQs etc so it becomes an ongoing information reference - it may end up being copied into a Wiki or similar at some point.

We have one that uses spoiler markup to make it compact, it works very well, but it seems like mobile clients aren't respecting the markup and displaying it as raw text which looks very bad. Probably going to have to change strategies which is unfortunate. If the mobile apps would respect the markup we could leave it like that.

Exact same boat man. Even messed around till I figured out how to nest spoilers so it was nice and compact and boom, no markdown on mobile.

Mine are barebones. Description, images attribution and basic requirements for posts.
