Obtainium: An Aurora Store & F-Droid Alternative (lemmy.ml)

Aurora store has been constantly getting attacked by Google and has become unreliable as such despite being a great project for a very long time. I believe it is time to stop relying on the Google Play repository as a whole and my solution to that is Obtainium.

Obtainium has the ability to track applications for the latest updates and download them from several websites, including the F-Droid website, APKMirror (tracking only), APKPure, and most importantly, Github, Gitlab, and Coreberg, meaning you can download the applications directly from the source.

While it is a bit more DIY, you will always have the latest updates as early as possible, with the developer's signature, without relying on the google play store in any way, and can replace both Aurora and F-Droid apps, reducing the number of apps on your phone.

I am in no way associated with the developer and just really enjoy the project and wanted to shine some light on it.
