OceanGate did not offer additional details about pausing its operations. Its CEO, Stockton Rush, was among the five people killed when the company's Titan submersible imploded in June.

Pretty sure the market suspended operations for them. No one's paying to use their services, no one will want to finance them... Once the sun imploded they were toast as a company.

IIRC they were promoting next year’s trip within days of the implosion. Gutsy move.

Ah yes, submarine company cannot operate without submarine

I think they had two other submersibles, though - those two don’t go nearly as deep as the Titan and were for dives of less than 1000 feet. But you know nobody wants to get into anything by that company now.

Maybe there would be an audience if they switch their name from OceanGate to HeavensGate.

They’re also probably underwater, financially.

No additional details about pausing operations, you say?

"Once they can be convinced again that the activities are safe, then they will go back," he said. "The human nature is to think, 'Well, this will happen to other people. This won't happen to me. I will be more careful.'"

There is never a shortage of hubris, in other words. 🤦🏽‍♂️
