Should add that I’ve done Magnet Chicken in Penfield and Peels on Wheels in town, thought both were fantastic

These are both great options for chicken and pizza respectively.
Other low key eats that are good to check out - Chortke, Neno’s, Old Pueblo Grill, Vesper, Calabresella’s (sp?), Bodega, and Swan Market.
Also, I think all the OG fast ground round place - Tom Wahl’s, Bill Gray’s, Schaller’s, Charlie’s - are all great for trash. Big fan.
Thanks!
Surprised that nobody mentioned the Hots places for Garbage/Trash/Dumpster Plates yet. It's kind of the thing around here, and no Rochester experience is complete without them!
- Nick Taou Hots
- Empire Hots
- Webster Hots
- Henrietta Hots
- Schallers
- Fairport Hots
And like a million others!
I like to get the Cheeseburg Plate with Mac and Homefris and everything on it.
I’ve actually heard from people at work to avoid Nick Tahou’s because the quality went down and the owner is a dick? Will look into the others though!
For pizza, I love Pizza Wizard for Detroit style (which was new for me in the last year) or Mr. Shoes for a more traditional style. Joe's Brooklyn has good NY style thin crust.
Calabresella's has great sub, salads (pasta, potato, etc.) and desserts. Also DiBellas's for subs.
Naan-tastic is a local Chipotle-style Indian place that I love. And for some spice, The King and I is a Thai place that can make some dishes that knock your socks off (if you convince them you can handle more than typical white guy spice).
Hi and welcome to Rochester! Not sure how hole in the wall these places are per se, but I like Jeremiah's for good wings, Dibella's for good subs, and The Nutcracker Restaurant for wraps/sandwiches.
Awesome, thanks for the recommendations!
