I'm wondering if we should start a sticky post which contains everyone's collection of Bean/Grinder+Setting/Brew method information as a reference. It's always good to have a nice starting point.

I will update as comments come up.

Neat. I don't vary my grinder settings normally. Fellow Opus 4.5 Moka Pot

Even for different roasts? I haven't tried moka pot yet.

I don't generally vary roasts much. Mainly light roasts but the occasional light/medium or medium.

With my hand grinder at the office, I will change the adjustment for beans that produce more fines like an Ethiopian.

For my V60 pourovers I mostly set my Encore to 16, sometimes varying by +/- 2 for different beans at different ages.

I think this is neat idea, but some days I'll just vary it based on what I'm feeling, nevermind any fixed variable, so I personally just like knowing the starting point to play with for different grinders/brew methods.

I just ordered the V60 number 2 kit in brown. Should be here this week. I'm excited to take a try at pour over at home.

Hope you enjoy! It's a very satisfying way to make coffee, even on those days where something doesn't taste quite right.

Yeah, it's just about those starting points.

Thanks for starting this. I almost exclusively brew light roasts via Chemex. I'll vary my grind slightly depending on how many cups I'm making, but for my standard two cup (32g of beans) recipe: 20 on Encore for Chemex.

When making one cup I'll use ~18, and for three cups I'll use ~22.

I guess we should add grams and cup information to the chart

I'm not sure how much it matters to anyone else - might just be something that I do. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else adjusts grind based on weight of beans, though. Or maybe it's more common just to always brew the same amount with a particular method?

I'm not sure, but let's see where this post goes.

I found this site as well for a good point of reference for starting my V60 journey: Coffee Grind Chart

Formatting of link was off. I was going to recommend the exact same site

Maybe we can do another post for preferred brew methods as well.
