/c/all is now predictably cluttered with porn from the lemmynsfw instance. Can we get a block instance option in the instance page, instead of having to block each individual instance?

As a related request, would you be open to a feature like a "blocked share list" that somebody can import? You could use it to maintain and share a list of onlyfans accounts if you don't want to see them, for instance.

Thanks for all your work!

Admin for lemmynsfw here, I just wanted to chime in that I 100% agree and feel that this is a feature that needs be baked into lemmy as a software overall. People who do not want to see pornography need to be able to block it in some way at the very least. There also does need to be an overall differentiation between NSFW content and pornography as well, since it feels particularly problematic to not have a distinction between the two. I think it is likely that content warnings will come to lemmy though, but we will see. Our back-end team is currently working to figure this out to identify our specific needs as an instance, but it's an uphill battle. Hopefully connect developers add this feature at least to provide a temporary fix, and I hope other app devs follow suit.

Yes, this is incredibly necessary since stuff like lemmingrad and .ml exist. I'm sure many other people have their preferences as well.

I don't necessarily want to see a random butthole while scrolling the feed next to my gf. (I know we can blur NSFW, but after reddit, openning blurry images is an invoulantary action)

If you log onto your instance in-browser you can hide NSFW content completely, not just blur it. This setting then persists across whatever client you use now or in future. Like you could on Reddit.

I’ve done this for what will now be my “main” username (this account), to make it literally safe for work, and then, like I did over there, have a secondary account with NSFW allowed on for.. y’no… science.

Hope this helps:)

Can't you just use the "Show NSFW Content" toggle in your Lemmy account settings?

A lot of war stuff is marked as NSFW, I'd like to stay as up to date with it as possible.

Ah, makes sense.

Glad I'm not the only person who is blind to NSFW. Feel we need a porn equivalent to NSFL, if that make sense?

Yes, some sort of differentiation between NSFW/NSWL is desperately needed! This might have to be done at the lemmy backend level, maybe?

Exactly - I'm an old lady, I don't give a shit about porn, but I do watch a lot of videos from Ukraine, etc. I hate that blocking NSFW blocks both types of content.

Hey, sometimes a random butthole is what keeps things exciting, alright? It's the little things @[email protected] , it's the little things.

Maybe we can arrange a "random butthole" toggle for such needs? lol

Good idea! I'll add a filter instance feature in the next release (tomorrow).

Thank you so much, now I can properly block the tankie instance.

Thank you! ♥️

Yeah definitely agree, there needs to be a way to filter instances from /all for the user without having to defederate with an instances.
